An interaction designed for the well-known Strand Bookstore nearby our school. It allows the user to highlight selected books, and interact with animations made to bounce off the books and walls of the shelf. We wanted to provide an audiovisual experience based off the simple action of removing and replacing books from a shelf.

An illuminated bookshelf invites user interaction. When a book is moved, its binding is highlighted and an animation is triggered causing white orbs to appear and bounce off the walls. A ripple animation is generated whenever an orb bounces. The orbs only react to active books, and books are grouped according to color palette.

This project implements depth-camera sensing and computer vision, projection mapping techniques, and cross-platform communication.
